The GIFT Nifty futures, which is an early indicator of the Nifty50 index, was trading 0.18% higher by 44.50 points at 24,180, indicating that the domestic benchmark indices are likely to make a positive start on Tuesday.
On Monday, 21 April, Domestic benchmark indices S&P BSE Sensex surged by 855 points or 1.09% and settled at 79,408, while the Nifty50 traded 1.15% higher by 274 points, settling at 24,125.

Quarterly Results Today: HCL Technologies, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services, AU Small Finance Bank, Cyient DLM, Havells India, Tata Communications, Delta Corp, Waaree Energies, Vardhman Special Steels, Hathway Cable & Datacom, Huhtamaki India, and Choice International are some of the prominent companies set to announce their quarterly earnings for January-March.
NTPC: The company has entered into a 300 MW Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Evren for the supply of firm and dispatchable renewable energy.
Hindustan Unilever: The company has announced acquiring a 90% stake in Uprising Science for a total consideration of Rs 2,706.44 crore. The acquisition was carried out through a mix of primary infusion and secondary share purchase.Β
Tata Power: The subsidiary of the company, Tata Power Renewable Energy has announced signing a PPA with Tata Motors for the co-development of a 131 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project.Β
Steel stocks: All listed steel stocks are expected to be in the spotlight on Tuesday after the government announced a 12% provisional safeguard duty on select steel products to support the domestic industry. The duty takes immediate effect and will remain in place for 200 days. Notably, the finance ministry has exempted all developing countries from this duty except China and Vietnam.
Coal India: The company has announced inking a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Damodar Valley Corporation for setting up a 2×800 megawatt (MW) coal-fired ultra-supercritical power plant in Jharkhand.
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders: Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders has appointed Capt (retd) Jagmohan as its new Chairman and Managing Director, following an official directive from the Ministry of Defence. The move marks a strategic step aimed at strengthening the companyβs leadership and steering its growth in the defence and shipbuilding sector.
Anant Raj: In its quarterly earnings for January-March, the company reported a 51.5% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 118.6 crore for the quarter under review compared to Rs 78.3 crore reported in the same quarter last year.Β
HG Infra Engineering: The company has emerged as the qualified bidder for the 300 MW/600 MWh (out of the total project capacity of 500 MW/1000 MWh) for the setting up of standalone battery energy storage systems in Gujarat.Β
Nureca: The company has announced securing approval from the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Punjab for establishing a new manufacturing facility in Sundra, SAS Nagar, Punjab that will focus on manufacturing health and wellness equipment.Β
Brigade Enterprises: The company has announced signing a Joint Development Agreement for a plotted development project in Malur, East Bengaluru, which spans around 20 acres. The project has a gross development value of Rs 175 crore, along with a total development potential of 0.45 million square feet.
