Shares of Solar Industries India Ltd skyrocketed 10% on Tuesday, 3 December, after the company announced securing an order worth Rs 2,039 crore from International clients. 

In an exchange filing, Solar Industries said, “We are pleased to share that our company, Solar Industries India Limited and its subsidiary have received export orders worth Rs 2,039 crore for supply of defence products.”

According to the corporation, Solar Industries will be in charge of supplying defence items to clients abroad under the conditions of the deal. 

According to Solar Industries, the order is anticipated to be delivered over a four-year period.

In the September quarter of the fiscal year 2025 (Q2FY25), Solar Industries’ profit increased by 45% year over year (Y-o-Y) to Rs 304 crore, up from Rs 209 crore in the same quarter in 2024 (Q2FY24).

The top line, or operating revenue, of the company increased by 27% year over year to Rs 1,716 crore in Q2FY25 from Rs 1,347 crore in Q2FY24. 
 
In terms of operations, Q2FY25 generated profits before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) of Rs 475 crore, up 38% yearly from Q2FY24, when it was Rs 377 crore. In Q2FY25, the EBITDA margin increased from 25.52% in Q2FY24 to 27.7%. 

Solar Industries is one of the biggest domestic producers of detonators, detonating cords, bulk and cartridge explosives, and other parts used in the mining, infrastructure, and building sectors. For the defence industry, the business produces pyros fuses, delivery systems, high-energy explosives, and ammunition filling. 

With 39 manufacturing plants spread over 8 nations, its worldwide reach now reaches over 82 countries.

At 12:45 pm, the shares of Solar Industries were trading 1.42% higher at Rs 10,690.90 on NSE.
