Stocks in Focus: Adani Green Energy, Sugar Stocks, Max Healthcare, and Others

The GIFT Nifty futures, which is an early indicator of the Nifty50 index, was trading 0.10% higher by 26 points at 25,396 indicating that the domestic benchmark indices are likely to make a positive start on Monday. 

On Friday, 13 September, Domestic benchmark indices S&P BSE Sensex slumped 71.77 points or 0.09%, to end at 82,890.94 while the Nifty50 traded 32.40 points or 0.13% lower, and settled at 25,356.50.

Here are some stocks that are likely to remain in focus on 16 September.

Max Healthcare: The company has entered into a strategic partnership with the Lakshadweep Group to acquire a controlling stake in Jaypee Healthcare. The company is looking to acquire a 64% stake in the company, and is also looking to acquire the remaining stake in the future. 

Sugar Stocks: The Government has granted permission to sugar mills and distilleries to manufacture spirit and extra-neutral alcohol from sugarcane juice and B-heavy molasses. 

Adani Green Energy: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) has issued a Letter of Intent for the supply of 6,600 megawatt (MW) of hybrid solar and thermal power.

Hindustan Unilever: The company has filed a petition with the Bombay High Court, a Rs 962 crore tax order that was issued by the Income Tax authorities. The notice is over Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) in response to the company’s acquisition of GlaxoSmithKline’s (GSK) consumer healthcare business.

GMR Airports: The company has recorded a 9% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic for August 2024, and has been seeing a consistent growth in passenger traffic since December 2023.

Mazagon Dock: The company has announced a final dividend of Rs 12.11 per share for the Fiscal Year 2023-24 and has set 19 September as the record date for its Annual General Meeting. 

Zydus Lifesciences: The US Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning letter to the company, citing significant manufacturing lapses, including failure to investigate contamination and cross-contamination events at its Gujarat-based plant.

Tata Power: The company’s subsidiary, Tata Power Solar Systems, has increased its rooftop solar installations in Chhattisgarh by installing solar panels at more than 600 locations in the state.
