Stocks in Focus: Adani Power, Jain Irrigation, RailTel Corp, and Others

The GIFT Nifty futures, which is an early indicator of the Nifty50 index, was trading 0.17% lower by 42 points at 24,817 indicating that the domestic benchmark indices are likely to make a muted start on Friday.

On Thursday, 22 August, Domestic benchmark indices S&P BSE Sensex gained 147.89 points or 0.18%, to end at 81,053.19, while the Nifty50 traded 41.30 points or 0.17% higher and settled at 24,811.50.

Here are some stocks that are likely to remain in focus on 23 August.

Adani Power: The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) Hyderabad Bench has approved its Rs 4,101 crore resolution plan to acquire Lanco Amarkantak Power Ltd (LAPL).

Jain Irrigation: The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Coffee Board of India to commercially release high-quality, disease-resistant coffee plants.

RailTel Corporation: The company has announced securing a work order worth Rs 52.66 crore from the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board.

Ambuja Cement: The promoter group of the company Holderind Investments has initiated a block deal to divest 2.84% stake in the company, aiming to raise $500 million. 

Wipro: A step-down subsidiary of the company, Rizing Management LLC, has been voluntarily liquidated. 

Bharti Airtel: The Commissioner (Appeals), Central Goods and Services Tax Appellate Authority, Delhi, has reduced the GST demand to Rs 194 crore from Rs 604.66 crore, following the company’s appeal to the Appellate Authority. 

SBI Life Insurance: The company has received a GST demand worth Rs 239.27 crore from the  Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner of Rohtak, Haryana, Department of Goods and Services Tax for the fiscal year 2020.

GAIL: The company has signed an MoU with S-based Petron Scientech Inc. to explore the option for establishing a 500 kilo tonnes per annum bio-ethylene plant and downstream units in India through a joint venture.

Bharat Forge: The company has announced its plans to invest Rs 105.45 crore in its subsidiary Kalyani Powertrain, which specialises in EV and e-mobility solutions.
