Infosys Anticipated To Procure USD 100 Million Substantial Share in USD 1 Billion Microsoft-Coca Cola Deal

Infosys will also be a key supplier in supporting cloud and generative AI (GenAI) work for Microsoft's business customers.

Insiders indicated that Infosys might receive over USD 100 million as a supporting partner in the USD 1.1 billion cloud migration contract signed in April this year between Coca-Cola and Microsoft.

Coca-Cola Euro Pacific Partners PLC, a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company, disclosed in a recent regulatory filing that the group committed to investing Euros 167 million with Microsoft for Azure cloud migration services over 6 years. An additional Euros 25 million was pledged to Infosys as a supporting partner.

According to filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Infosys is slated to receive more than USD 27 million from this deal specifically for the Euro-Pacific region. Experts anticipate that Infosys could earn over USD 100 million from the global Coca-Cola-Microsoft deal if it participates in other regions.

Industry analysts estimate that approximately 15-20% of cloud migration contracts are awarded to IT service providers. Pareekh Jain, CEO of the EIIRTrend engineering insight platform, highlighted the significant potential for Indian IT service providers in cloud and artificial intelligence (AI).

Jain emphasised that partnering with major cloud companies like Microsoft enables Indian IT service providers to secure large cloud migration deals with multinational corporations, highlighting the growing importance of AI in such contracts.

In April of this year, Microsoft and Coca-Cola announced a five-year strategic partnership to align Coca-Cola’s technology strategy across the organisation, leverage cutting-edge technology, and drive innovation and efficiency globally.

As part of the collaboration, Coca-Cola committed USD 1.1 billion to Microsoft Cloud and its generative AI capabilities. The companies also revealed plans to explore new technologies, such as Azure OpenAI Service, together to develop innovative generative AI applications across various business functions.

It’s important to note that in September last year, Infosys declared a partnership with Microsoft to help enterprises adopt an AI-first approach, scale next-generation AI solutions, and drive operational efficiencies, revenue growth, and business transformation.
