Antony Waste Handling Cell Shares Surge 8% on Revenue Growth of 11%

The stock surged after Budget 2024, driven by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's announcements.

Shares of Antony Waste Handling Cell Ltd. surged by almost 8% to a day’s high of Rs 620.45 on 15 July after the company reported an 11% year-over-year revenue growth in the June Quarter.

The firm attributed this outcome to strong performance in the collection and disposal business and increased operations at the Waste-to-Energy plant in Pimpri.

During the quarter ending on 30 June, the company reported that its Waste-to-Energy (WtE) plant achieved a Plant Load Factor (PLF) of about 89%, up from 71% in the previous quarter. This increase follows the plant’s first full quarter of operation, which occurred during the March quarter.

They managed approximately 1.18 million tonnes of waste during the first quarter, marking a 6% year-over-year increase after adjustments for the Mangalore C&T and GNIDA Biomining projects completed last year. They disclosed these figures in its business update for Q1 FY25.

The C&T business segment handled approximately 0.47 million tonnes, marking a 4% year-over-year growth in the June quarter. The Waste Processing division managed approximately 0.71 million tonnes during the same period.

The total core operating revenue, including tipping revenue and power sales, grew by 11% during the June quarter compared to last year. This growth is driven by increased tipping fees and revenues from fixed shifts, trips, and household fees.

The company credits steady contributions from new projects like the C&T project at Panvel and power sweeping projects in Nagpur and PCMC. Revenue from power sales generated by the Waste-to-Energy project also contributed to the increase, according to the company’s disclosure to stock exchanges.

The company is looking forward to launching a construction and debris processing project in Mumbai soon and aims to maintain operational efficiency at its existing sites in the coming months.

At 11:52 AM, the shares of Antony Waste Handling Cell were trading 6.62% higher at Rs 606.10 on BSE.
