MG Motor India Signs an Agreement to Deliver 3,000 EVs

This partnership will provide sustainable mobility solutions to riders.

MG Motor India on Thursday, 23 May announced signing an agreement where the integrated fleet electrification platform Vertelo will get 3,000 electric vehicles over time.

Both companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This partnership will provide sustainable mobility solutions to riders, and the alliance will also work to develop a robust domestic EV charging infrastructure in India.

MG Motor India Chief Growth Officer Gaurav Gupta said, “This partnership between MG India and Vertelo demonstrates a shared vision for a green and sustainable future with decarbonisation in India. We also believe that this collaboration will augment our endeavours to offer advanced e-mobility solutions for passengers and boost faster adoption of EVs in the country.”

Vartelo is a fleet electrification platform with the aim of providing end-to-end solutions to operators and corporations. The company was established by Macquarie Asset Management, and they received an anchor investment from the Green Climate Fund, which committed to investing USD 200 million.

Vertelo CEO Sandeep Gambhir said, “This partnership with MG Motor India to purchase around 3,000 electric cars, marks the beginning of an exciting journey for both organisations with a common goal of accelerating fleet electrification and achieving Net-zero emissions.”

The transition to a more sustainable transportation ecosystem, he added, will be accelerated significantly by Vertelo’s all-inclusive electrification solutions for fleet operators and corporates, as well as the assortment of electric vehicles that MG Motor plans to introduce in India over the coming years.

MG Motor India’s current line of electric vehicles includes the tiny Comet and the SUV known as the ZS EV.
