Industry Leaders Praised India’s Technological Advancement at ‘Vishesh Sampark Abhiyan’

During the event, they discussed the rapid advancements in India's tech sector and the nation's future.

‘Vishesh Sampark Abhiyan’ is an event, which took place on Monday evening, brought together some of the leading IT professionals, innovators, startup leaders, and intellectuals in the country.

Industry leaders gathered at Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri’s residence for a special event called ‘Vishesh Sampark Abhiyan’. During the event, they discussed the rapid advancements in India’s tech sector and the nation’s future.

Rikant Pitti, co-founder of EaseMy Trip, emphasized the growth of startups in India and stated that the future of the country depends on technology.

He mentioned that in 2018, there were 450 registered startups, and today, that number has surged to over 100,000. He also highlighted the widespread internet access due to the Digital India initiative launched in 2015 and the internet connectivity in over 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats and villages under the BharatNet scheme.

MoS Rajeev Chandrasekhar noted the significant growth in India’s digital economy, which has grown by 2.8 times. He expressed optimism about India becoming Viksit Bharat before 2047 and emphasized the rapid expansion of India’s digital public infrastructure.

Rakesh Verma, CEO and co-founder of Vervesemi Microelectronics discussed the potential for growth in India’s semiconductor industry. He mentioned the increase in India’s 24 billion dollar import industry to 100 billion dollars and the favourable government policies that led to the establishment of their company in 2017.

Pankaj Mohindroo, Chairman of the Indian Cellular Association, spoke about the remarkable growth in India’s electronics sector. He highlighted the inspiring growth of the mobile phone industry in India, which has grown by about 2100% since 2014, and the overall growth of the electronics sector by about 400%.

Rajan Anandan, MD of Peak XV Partners, emphasized the massive transformation of India’s digital ecosystem, particularly the increase in active mobile phone data users to over 800 million post the reforms of 2014.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri echoed these sentiments, praising the young professionals present at the event and acknowledging their role in guiding India’s tech prowess.
