Hyundai Sales Grow 9.5% During April 

If the listing receives the approval from the market regulator, this will be India's biggest IPO.

Hyundai Motor India, on Wednesday, 1 May,  said that its April wholesale sales increased by 9.5% year over year to 63,701 vehicles. In the same month the previous year, the carmaker had shipped 58,201 units.

Domestic wholesales rose by 1% to 50,201 units from 49,701 units during the same period last year.

In April of this year, exports jumped by 59% YoY to 13,500 units from 8,500 units in April of 2023.

Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India, said that the business achieved over 50,000 domestic sales in April for the fourth time this year.

Garg stated, “SUVs continued to be a growth driver, contributing 67% of automaker’s domestic sales, driven by models like Creta, Venue, and Exter.”

In its quarterly report for January-March, the auto maker reported a 47.8% YoY increase in its net profit to Rs 3,877.8 crore for the quarter from Rs 2,623.6 crore reported in the same quarter last year. 

The company has surpassed the annual total sales milestone of 2 million units for the first time ever during the fiscal year 2024, and continues to be the top exporter for the third consecutive year, contributing 41.8% of total passenger vehicle exports from India.
