Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), on 11 January, announced a special dividend of Rs 18 per share and an interim dividend of Rs 9 per share for the ongoing fiscal year.
Earlier, the company had announced dividends of Rs 9 per share during the first and second quarters of the current fiscal year, taking the total dividend declared for FY24 to Rs 45 per share.
The software behemoth is anticipated to distribute about Rs 16,456 crore in dividends in the current fiscal year, following payouts of Rs 33,306 crore in FY23, Rs 7,686 crore in FY22, and Rs 8,510 crore in FY21.
Furthermore, TCS has a history of announcing buybacks; the most recent was a Rs 17,000 crore buyback in FY23.
Including the initial offer of Rs 16,000 crore in 2017, two further buybacks of Rs 16,000 crore in June 2018 and October 2020, and the most recent buyback of Rs 18,000 crore in January 2022, the company has announced five buybacks since 2017.
