Shares of Shakti Pumps rallied 5% on 10 January after the company announced that it had received its 10th patent for a surface helical pump construction with collinear flow.
In its regulatory filing, the company said it had received its 10th patent from the Patent Office, Government of India, that redefines fluid technology with surface helical pumps.
The Indian government has awarded the company the patent under the provision of the Patents Act of 1970, which will be valid for 20 years, starting from the filing date.
The innovation tackles a prevailing issue in centrifugal pumps by maintaining consistent water flow even if the reverse osmosis membrane faces blockages.
The design will also help improve efficiency and reduce the costs of maintenance, which is led by reducing the need to change the membrane frequently. The breakthrough design presents an economically attractive solution for the RO industry.
Dinesh Patidar, the Chairman of Shakti Pumps, said, “Our pump’s enhanced efficiency significantly cuts down on energy consumption, directly benefiting RO industries by bolstering their revenue streams. This reduction in energy usage also stands as a testament to our commitment to environmental sustainability, as it tangibly contributes to lowering carbon footprint.”
At 3:30 pm, the shares of Shakti Pumps closed 2.06% higher at Rs 1,092.25 on NSE.
