Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj, and Mahindra announced their sales update for December on 1 January.

Maruti Suzuki reported a 1.28% year-on-year (YoY) decline in its total sales to 1,37,551 units in December 2023 against 1,39,347 units sold in the same month last year. The total domestic sales during the month stood at 1,10,667 units against 1,17,551 units in the year-ago period, marking a 5.86% YoY decline.

Bajaj Auto reported a 16% YoY increase in total sales to 3,26,806 units in December 2023 from 2,81,514 units in December 2022. The domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1,58,370 units, which is a 26% YoY increase from 1,25,553 units sold in the same month last year. Meanwhile, the exports of two-wheelers for the month under review stood at 1,24,631 units.

Mahindra and Mahindra reported a 6% YoY increase in total sales to 60,188 units in December 2023. The passenger vehicle sales grew by 24% to 35,174 units during the month from 28,445 units reported in the same month last year. However, automotive exports during December saw a 41% YoY decline to 1,819 units from 3,100 units sold in the same month in 2022.
