Stocks in Focus: Cipla, HPCL, Bajaj Finance and Others

The GIFT Nifty futures were trading flattish before the market’s opening on Tuesday. Indices are expected to open on a similar lacklustre note.

Domestic benchmark indices, NSE Nifty 50 and S&P BSE Sensex, extended gains for the third consecutive session on Monday to close at a two-week high. Sensex soared 594.91 points or 0.92% to settle at 64,958.69, while Nifty added as much as 0.94% or 181.95 points to 19,411.75. 

Here are some stocks likely in focus on November 7:

Bajaj Finance: The company opened its Rs 8,800 crore qualified institutional placement (QIP) on November 6 and has fixed the base price at Rs 7,250 per share. The price is nearly at a 4% discount from the SEBI’s formula price of Rs 7,533.81 per equity share. 

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL): The oil marketing company returned to profitability and logged a consolidated net profit of Rs 5,826.96 crore in the September quarter after a boost in marketing margin improved earnings. In the year-ago period, the company posted a loss of Rs 2,475.69 crore. However, revenue dipped 9.7% year-on-year (YoY), falling to Rs 1.02 lakh crore. 

Quess Corp: The board of the company approved buying a 4.5% stake in unit Vedang Cellular Services for Rs 6.05 crore, increasing its total stake to 96.97%. The board also approved the acquisition of an additional 46.09% stake for Rs 6.8 crore to increase its total holdings in unit Stellarslog Technovation to 100%. In Q2 FY24, the net profit rose 24% YoY to Rs 63.84 crore, with total income up 11.2% at Rs 4,763.47 crore.

Cipla: The drugmaker approved the transfer of its generics business to unit Cipla Pharma and Life Sciences for a consideration of Rs 350 crore, with the sale to be completed by December 31, 2023.
