Tata Power Solar Systems (TPSSL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, has won a Rs 1,755 crore solar project from NLC India (formerly Neyveli Lignite Corporation) through a competitive tender.
The company will set up a 300 MW engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project for NLC India at Barsingar in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district. It said in a statement that the project is expected to generate more than 75 crore solar power units per year and avoid 6 lakh crore tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
TPSSL will handle the complete project execution from design to commissioning and evacuation system to delivery point (220KV side of pooling substation).
TPSSL will also operate and maintain the project within three years after the commercial operation declaration. The project will be put into production within 18 months after receiving the letter of award.
With this winning bid, the company’s total solar portfolio under the EPC will reach 11.5 GWp. Currently, TPSSL’s entire order book is about Rs 17,000 crore.
