Facebook’s parent company, Meta Platforms Inc, has released a new artificial intelligence (AI)-based language model. The company’s chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg, revealed the news in a Facebook post on Friday.
The new language model LLaMA is designed to generate text and dialogue, summarise written material and perform complex tasks such as solving mathematical theorems or predicting protein structures. According to Zuckerberg, AI models are designed to help researchers advance their work.
In his post, Zuckerberg said, “Today we released a new state-of-the-art AI large-scale language model called LLaMA, designed to help researchers advance their work. The material aspect shows great potential and more complex tasks such as solving mathematical theorems or predicting protein structures.”
The new LLaMA language model will be available to the AI research community.
