On Monday, Auto parts maker Bharat Forge Ltd said that its unit JS Auto Cast Foundry India would acquire Indo Shell Mould Ltd’s special economic zone subsidiary in Erode SIPCOT in Tamil Nadu state for an undisclosed amount.
JS Auto Cast Foundry India has entered into a business transfer agreement with Indo Shell Mould Ltd for this purpose, Bharat Forge said in a statement.
“The acquisition strengthens JS Auto’s presence in the foundry industry, expands its product offering and customer base, and enhances its manufacturing footprint in India,” it added.
With a capacity of 42,000 MTPA, the SEZ plant supplies fully machined critical castings to significant customers in the automotive industry and will operate as JS Auto’s third manufacturing facility, bringing its total capacity to 1,42,000 MTPA, the company said, adding that the acquisition would be accretive to earnings per share from the first year onwards.
