In the morning trade, the critical equity benchmarks traded with small gains. Nifty was trading above 18,100. Metals, autos and oil and gas stocks rose, while pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and media stocks were lower.

Among the barometer indices, the S&P BSE Sensex gained 82.7 points, or 0.14%, to 60,923.44. The Nifty 50 gained 19.25 points or 0.11% to 18,124.55.

In the broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index hit a high at 0.25% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index gained 0.32%. On the BSE, 1,775 shares rose, 867 shares went down, and the rest 117 shares remained the same.

In the Indian Market, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were net buyers of Rs 2,266.20 crore and Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 2,950.89 crore on December 30, 2022.

On December 30, 2022, Tata Motors spiked by 0.98%. The acquisition of the Sanand manufacturing plant by Ford India Plc (FIPL) through its subsidiary Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEML) will be completed by the first week of January 2023.
