In noteworthy attainment firming the country’s health infrastructure, India has exceeded a notable landmark, as 1.5 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs) have been operationalised before December 31, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya commended the country on this accomplishment, mentioning that India has positively achieved the goal it had set out.
Interpreting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision into realism, he said that the collected and cooperative efforts of states/UTs and the Central government had hurled India into a worldwide model for certain and complete primary healthcare services.
Prime Minister Narender Modi also commended the efforts and said India’s prosperity lies in vigorous citizens only. These health and wellness hubs set up in record numbers will play a significant role in this course. This achievement is going to fill a new energy in New India.”
Safeguarding the reach of healthcare services to the deepest regions of the nation through various creativities, AB-HWCs have exceeded 8.5 teleconsultations via e-Sanjeevni, in which nearly four lakh teleconsultations take place on a daily, said the ministry.
Adding, over 86.90 crore recipients have been cumulatively partitioned for non-communicable sicknesses, which embrace 29.95 crores for hypertension, 25.56 crores for diabetes, 17.44 crore for oral cancer, 8.27 crore for breast cancer, 5.66 crores for cervical cancer.
“In light of the extension of AB-HWCs, the number of indispensable medicines has augmented to 172 at the primary health and health wellness centres, 105 at sub-health and health wellness centres, while essential diagnostics have been prolonged to 63 at PHC-HWCs and 14 at SHC-HWCs,” the ministry added.
