Ashok Leyland’s total vehicle sales rose 34% to 14,863 in October 2022 from 11,079 a year earlier. However, total vehicle sales were down 15% from 17,549 in September 2022.

The medium & heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) sales increased by 49% year on year to 9,054 units, and total light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales are more than by 16% year on year to 5,809 units.

The total domestic sales in the last month stood at 13,860 units, up by 38% from 10,043 units sold during the same period of the previous year.

Ashok Leyland is the largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles in India and the biggest manufacturer of buses and trucks across the world.

On a consolidated basis, the company reported a net profit of Rs 68 crore in the first quarter of FY23 compared to a net loss of Rs 282 crore in the first quarter of FY22.

The stock of the company slipped 3.07% in the recent trade at Rs 148.55 on the BSE.
