Adani Defence Systems & Technologies has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Air Works, the largest aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) company in the United States, for $4 billion.
Air Works is a highly diversified independent MRO company with a pan-India network in 27 cities, Adani Defence said in a statement after signing the agreement during DefExpo22.
From the stage 32 inspection of the first P-8I aircraft to the stage 48 inspection and MRO of the landing gear of the Indian Air Force 737 VVIP aircraft, Air Works said from its EASA and statement facilities in Mumbai, Delhi, Hosur and Kochi.
Rajvanshi said Air Works’ capabilities had been proven, with its more than 70 years of aviation heritage delivering several India-first and industry-first projects. He said that the capabilities of Adani Group would be an entity that represents what Atmanirbhar Bharat should bed.
“India has the potential to become an MRO hub for defence and civil aircraft in the region. The addition of Air Works and its employees to the Adani Defence & Aerospace platform is a fantastic opportunity,” said D Anand Bhaskar, General Manager and CEO of Air Works Group.
