Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State, reported that Ukrainian forces had made impactful progress in Ukraine’s counter-offensive against Russian troops. Yet, it is too early to predict the outcome. Previously, in an interview in Mexico, Blinken reportedly said that with the support the US has provided and the extraordinary courage and resilience of the Ukrainian armed forces and the Ukrainian people, the country had made significant progress in the Northeast territory against the Russian troops.
Furthermore, Blinken added that the Russians have already deployed very significant forces and well-equipped armed munitions in Ukraine, which there are using indiscriminately against not just the Ukrainian armed forces but also against the civilians and civilian infrastructure. He also added that it’s too early to understand the Ukraine situation.
In its lightning counter-offensive, Ukraine has claimed an impactful success in the Kharkiv region and the Kherson region in the Northeast. On Monday, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said that only this month, Ukrainian soldiers had recaptured 6,000 sq Km of territory from Russia.
Praising the heroism of Russian troops, a television news report marked the retreat as a strategically planned “Regrouping Operation.” Earlier on Sunday, the Russian military continued to evacuate the Northeastern territory of Ukraine that it had occupied for months, reports media.
