ABB India has modernised and extended its smart power facility in Nelamangala, Bangalore, to satisfy the high demand for its solutions and energy management technology. ABB India said in a statement that the smart facility uses cutting-edge collaborative robotics technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced digitalisation technologies to build a sophisticated, automated, and flexible factory ready for the future.
To address the demand from the industry for enhanced reliability and energy savings, this first-of-its-kind facility produces, tests, and sells the whole spectrum of low voltage power equipment and energy management solutions from ABB Smart Power. It satisfies the rising demand for power in various industries requiring commercial and residential construction, infrastructure, utilities, and renewable energy sources like solar and wind.
The ABB Smart Power facility, which covers an area of approximately 8,400 square metres, connects devices like robots, motors, and drives to the Internet of Things (IoT). To increase productivity and efficiency, the linked factory software reveals potential for process improvement and plans predictive maintenance. “The modifications and extension at the Bangalore facility make it one of our most modern manufacturing facilities in the world,” said the manufacturer. “This led to increased productivity of 40% in the same space with a 15% reduction in energy use.
