NTPC Launches First Part of Gandhar Solar PV Project

On Monday, the state-run NTPC declared commercial operation of the first part capacity of 10 megawatts (MW) out of the 20 MW Gandhar Solar PV project in Gujarat. NTPC has become 55099 MW when standalone installed and commercial capacity whereas the group installed and commercial capacity of NTP has become 69464 MW, according to the company’s statement.
NTPC is India’s largest energy conglomerate. It has a presence in the entire value chain of the power generation business. As on 30 June 2022, the Government of India holds 51.10 per cent of NTPC.


As of June 2022, the 51.10 per cent shares of NTPC are held by GOI (Government of India). The company’s consolidated net profit goes up by 15.5 per cent to Rs 3,977.77 crore in the first quarter of the current year as compared to 44.5 per cent to Rs 43,177.14 crore in the first quarter of last year. Meanwhile, NTPC shares were down 0.06 per cent at Rs 156.45 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
“Consequent to the successful commissioning, the first part capacity of 10 MW out of 20 MW Gandhar Solar PV Project at Gandhar, Gujarat has been declared on commercial operation from 00:00 hrs of 23.08.2022,” NTPC said.

“With this, NTPC’s standalone installed and commercial capacity will become 55,099 MW, while NTPC’s group installed and commercial capacity will be 69,464 MW,” the NTPC statement.
