Agritech startup Growcoms has raised $1 million (around Rs 7 crore) from investors, including Info Edge, to expand its business.
Kochi-based Growcoms said in a statement that it had raised $1 million in pre-Series A funding.
The company is backed by Kerala startups and incubated at the Indigram Labs Foundation. “The company intends to use the funding to expand its technology platform and expand its market share. In addition, the company plans to facilitate cross-border trade and further improve traceability and transparency in the spice value chain,” it added.
Growcoms was founded in 2021 by George Kurian Kannanthanam, Bibin Mathews and Narendranath P. Founder and CEO Kannanthanam said the company is committed to raising awareness among farmers to improve the quality of their products to get the right value for their produce.
Agritech startups have made significant investments in the past few years against the backdrop of the growing use of technology in the agricultural sector.
