Zee Entertainment today announced the signing of a long-term global media rights contract with the UAE’s T20 League, giving the broadcaster access to 34 cricket tournament matches. The league will be broadcast on Zee’s linear channel and streaming platform, ZEE5. The competition will be broadcast in English, Hindi and Tamil on ten linear channels in the Hindi market, South and East regions.
The broadcaster said it operates in more than 190 countries worldwide, which will help them expand the league to more than 100 million households. Khalid Al Zarooni, Chairman of the UAE T20 League, said: “ZEE has decided to re-enter the field of sports broadcasting, and the UAE T20 League is the first to obtain media rights.”
The UAE’s T20 league consists of six teams, including Reliance Industries Limited, Adani Sportsline, Knight Riders, Lancer Capital, GMR Group and Capri Global.
