Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Microsoft have entered into a strategic cloud partnership aimed at accelerating the firm’s digital transformation and driving innovation in the oil and gas industry. According to a joint statement, the collaboration seeks to unlock opportunities provided by Microsoft’s cloud to address unique challenges in the oil and gas sector, enabling BPCL to accelerate the modernisation of its technological architecture. This, in turn, will enhance and redefine the customer experience.
Through seven years of collaboration, Microsoft will provide infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS), platform-as-a-service (PAAS), network and cloud security services, Azure Data Factory, IoT (Internet of Things), and Azure Native Services in Analysis. “The partnership provides a strong impetus to BPCL’s digital-first strategy, to redefine the customer experience through pillars of trust, personalisation, and convenience as part of the ‘project experience’,” it says.
Microsoft’s secure cloud platform, including data privacy, will accelerate BPCL’s cloud transformation, provide intelligence to transform operations, create a smarter supply chain, and increase customer engagement. Both companies are working closely with Microsoft teams and workplace productivity suites to provide a secure collaboration experience for BPCL’s employee ecosystem across the country.
