Vama has raised $750,000 in a funding round from Huddle & 7Square Ventures. The funding round also saw participation from other angel investors, including Kunal Shah, founder of CRED, and Varun Alagh, co-founder and CEO of Mamaearth.
The fresh funds will support product development, introduce new service verticals, and hire new talent. Manu Jain, the co-founder of Vama said that “The demand for e-pujas and online mandir darshans will stay, as more Indians realise the benefits of and embrace digital services. During the pandemic and after lockdowns, our platform witnessed a huge group of devotees from all age groups and geographies.”
Himanshu Semwal, the co-founder of Vama, said that “The focus is to convert the offline mandir ecosystem to digital through content-driven products that are engaging, empowering, and habit-forming. While the category appeals to a wider audience.”
