Blinkit has raised a new funding round of $100 million from Zomato. Albinder Dhindsa, the co-founder of Blinkit, said that the company would focus on growth and improving its speed of execution and also decreasing its burn rate. “We have closed our next fundraise and will have funds coming over the next week. We have come a long way in the last eight months by transitioning the business to the biggest quick-service commerce player in the sector,” Dhindsa said.
After Zomato’s $100 million investment in Grofers in August 2021, the company rebranded to Blinkit. Zomato said that with $1.7 Bn cash in the bank, it would try to capitalise on the growth witnessed by Blinkit. In August, Blinkit shifted to Q-commerce, promising delivery within 10 minutes.
