Canadian PM Justin Trudeau requested all the protesters to go home, saying “everything is on the table”, and promised to end the blockades stopping cross-border trade at various locations. “This unlawful activity has to end, and it will end. We hope that the protesters will go home. Otherwise, we have to increase police intervention,” Trudeau said.
Trudeau also said that police and all levels of government are planning to take action against the protesters behind the blockades in Ottawa, Windsor and other locations. Federal, provincial and municipal officials have cleared out that the blockades and activities of the convoy are illegal and unlawful, and they must end. Trudeau said the protesters should stop or face harsh consequences for any illegal activities that include the possibility of criminal charges and abrupt financial penalties. He said the federal government would no longer handle activists who take the economy hostage.
