To celebrate the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” and encourage the culture of innovation amongst the Indian Youth, UIDAI is organising “Aadhaar Hackathon 2021” from October 28 to October 31. UIDAI has launched the Hackathon to amplify the experience of citizens of India and the interface with enrollment and authentication software platforms by technological innovations. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), the Hackathon will begin from October 28 at midnight.
The hackathon has multiple problem questions categorised under two themes, i.e. enrollment and authentication. So far, UIDAI has got over 2,700 registrations from engineering students in the last few days, which describes the tendency of young minds in solving real-life challenges being faced by the citizens of India. Participation includes students from all engineering Institutes like IITs, NITs and NIRF and many colleges from all around the country.

UIDAI has made a portal providing all details and rules about the hackathon. The winners of each theme will be rewarded with some prize money and other benefits. The first prize is Rs 3 lakhs, the second prize is worth Rs 2 lakhs, while the third prize is Rs 1 lakh. The UIDAI said that members of the winning team may get a chance to work with the Aadhaar team to create the following generation identity and authentication platform under the Aadhaar 2.0 initiative.
