Lufthansa Adds 4 New Airbus A350s

Lufthansa said it had added four new Airbus A350-900 passenger planes. Chief Executive Officer Carsten Spohr declared the progress by the carrier on an airlines conference dominated by debate over emissions and heavy losses due to the pandemic.

The aircraft was reserved for Philippine Airlines, which was restructuring its fleet, and will be available next year. Their arrival will fasten the replacement of less fuel-efficient Airbus and Boeing jets, Lufthansa said.

“We are not only reducing our recovery at Lufthansa, but we are also slowing down the recovery of the economic relations between China and Germany,” Spohr said. China decreased transport ties with other countries as the coronavirus spread in the world. Airlines, both Chinese and non-Chinese, face the suspension of flight routes if many infected passengers are discovered on arrival in China.
