PM Narendra Modi met US President Joe Biden at the White House in his 1st bilateral meeting. The two leaders will discuss important issues, including the fight against Covid-19, climate change, and economic assistance.
“This morning, I am hosting PM Modi at the White House for a bilateral meeting. I am looking forward to strengthening the deep ties between our nations, working to support a free and open Indo-Pacific, and tackling everything from Covid-19 to climate change,” President Biden tweeted.

“The bilateral meeting will also discuss the current situation in Afghanistan, our stakes as a neighbour and a longstanding and a development partner of Afghanistan. We will undoubtedly discuss to begin radicalism, extremism, cross-border terrorism and the break up of global terrorist networks,” Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said. After the bilateral summit, Biden will welcome Modi again at the White House for the first-ever in-person Quad summit. Australian PM Scott Morrison and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga will also attend the meeting.
