Indian revenue services officer JB Mohapatra has been selected as the Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the finance ministry announced in a notification. Mohapatra had been managing as the Chairman of the Board since June of this year. He will replace Prakash Chandra Mody, an Indian revenue services officer, who retired in May. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has confirmed the appointment.

JB Mohapatra was given the responsibility of the Chairman of CBDT for three months. He was appointed as a board member in May, together with Rashmi Saxena Sahni and Anuja Sarangi.
