US President Joe Biden has said that the January 6 riot at the US Capitol was not a protest but chaos and said the attack was an existential crisis, saying that while the American democracy survived, hate, lies, and extremism must protect it. Biden issued a statement on Tuesday recognising the six-month mark of the disorder while seeking national unity to restore decency, honour, and respect of the law.
