Facebook on Wednesday said it would give employees the option of remote work for the long term. They even offered to help employees in moving to other countries. From June 15, Facebook will let any employee work remotely permanently whose job can be done from any other place, the company told.
Facebook said, “We believe how we work more important than where we work,” while sharing their updated remote work policy. “We want to be the place where people can do the best work of their careers while ensuring a great experience for employees no matter where they are located.” the company added.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said he expects the shift to remote work would come long last at the leading social network. They have planned for employees to do their jobs from wherever they want. Facebook said work schedules for employees returning to offices would be flexible, but its guidance is for people to be on-site at least half the time. They said it is on track to have most of its US campuses at 50 per cent capacity by early September.
