Six people have died, and 20 people have been hospitalised in a gas leak incident at a company in Surat’s Gujarat. “Six people died, and 20 others were admitted to the civil hospital after gas leakage at a company in Sachin GIDC region of Surat early morning today”, media reports said.

Meanwhile, a police officer Mahesh Patel had said that another 25 people were hospitalised after they inhaled the gas in an industrial complex in Surat. Negligence and lack of safety norms often lead to such accidents in India. In 2020, a gas leak in a chemical factory killed 12 people and due to which hundreds of people were hospitalised in Vishakhapatnam.
