Wipro CEO Thierre Delaporte has said that Fifth Generation (5G) Technology is revolutionary as it will not only accelerate IT infrastructure but will also be a game changer for digital manufacturing. This will pave the way for industries to go smarter.
He further said that developing solutions for client is the topmost priority of the company. Since the upcoming era will be driven by 5G, it is of utmost importance that strategy is devised accordingly. The company believes that clients will require 5G to create differentiators in their businesses. Thus, an ecosystem-led approach is undoubtedly critical for 5G.
The Bengaluru-based software service provider currently works on a flexible hybrid model. That means clients can go for a hybrid setting of leasing the spectrum from telecom companies or pay per use of the technology.
While companies like Tech Mahindra and L&T Technologies has clearly expressed that they would go for private 5G spectrums directly from Department of Telecommunications, Wipro, for now, still seems unclear about the same as it is still not clear whether technology companies would be allotted free spectrum for setting up private 5G networks or not.
