Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) has bagged an order worth Rs.88.51 crore from Cochin Port. DCI is the only PSU in India in dredging field and it acquires all major contracts via open competitive bidding process.
The company in its filing stated that, it had called for global tenders for Maintenance Dredging for the year 2017-18, during August 2017. DCI had participated in the bidding process and was the lowest bidder with Rs.88.51 crore, thereby it had retained the work in its order book for next year.
The dredging at Cochin Port will be carried throughout the year by employing 2 dredgers. Moreover, since 2011-12, DCI has been continuously carrying out the maintenance dredging works at Cochin Port.
