The hot steel production of Tata Steel increased by 16.66 percent to 3.01 million tonnes (MT) for the first quarter of the current fiscal.
For the first quarter of 2015-16, the company had recorded hot metal output at 2.58 MT.
April-June period of 2016-17, company’s crude steel production increased by 7.69 percent to 2.52 MT from 2.34 MT a year ago.
According to a company statement the saleable steel production increases by 5.85 percent to 2.35 MT during the quarter under review as compared with 2.22 MT in the year-ago period.
The company has said that “best ever automative steel sales of 379 KT” has been achieved by it as against 334 KT in the first quarter of the last fiscal.
